Xiiqaas isn’t a reality show

After receiving strong entries from Mexico and growing interest from Costa Rica and Colombia, Xiiqaas is opening its girl group search to Latinas aged 18 to 25 worldwide. The entry period has been extended through October 31.

Xiiqaas isn’t a reality show. There are no private auditions and no celebrity judges. Candidates enter with a phone and their story, and tag @Xiiqaas. Each entry plays out publicly on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, building a fan base before the five-member group releases its first song.

“Gen Z doesn’t want to be judged. They do things on their own terms,” said Maurice Keizer, creator of Xiiqaas. “This generation wants a group that looks and sounds like them, with no filters and no autotune.”

Instead of judges, the candidates are mentored by Guides from the music, fashion, TV and social media worlds with more than 10 million followers between them. The journey is documented in a 100-episode video podcast series and continues with live YouTube shows and television, leading to live try-outs in Miami, a debut single and a tour. The first 6 video podcasts are up on YouTube and all major podcast platforms:

With Latin music among the fastest-growing genres worldwide, Xiiqaas applies the K-Pop model to Latin Gen Z but keeps it REAL: a group built for its generation, on its platforms.
